Panel Discussion

As part of Matariki 2021 celebrations, Tauranga Art Gallery is pleased to host a panel discussion featuring a range of leading tangata whenua creatives and commentators, including Tauranga-based artist Tawhai Rickard (Ngāti Uepohatu, Ngāti Porou) who concurrently presents The Misadventures of Te Kuri at the Gallery, his first solo-exhibition in a public institution.

Facilitated by Arpége Taratoa, each participant will reflect on Te Iwa o Matariki (the nine stars of Matariki), and discuss personal connections with the constellation and its impact on their thinking.
